It serves as a guide for our work, for our members and for our fans. But it also serves those whom we want to win as partners, members and fans.

Who we are

The International Football Club (IFC) Rostock e.V. is a grassroots sports club and cultural project that was founded in 2015. The International Football Club Rostock of 1899, which was declared dissolved in 1945, served as a historical model.

The IFC spreads the fun of playing sports together, self-organised leisure activities and living democracy.

What we stand for

For us, grassroots democracy means that all decisions about the club are made at our monthly club plenary meetings, where everyone has an equal say.

People of all ages, genders, backgrounds, nationalities, beliefs, sexual orientations, gender identities and social statuses are welcome in the association. All members treat each other and other clubs with respect and fair play. We treat each other constructively, respectfully and appreciatively.

We stand for solidarity with one another and try to create a non-discriminatory space in which everyone can do sport or spend their free time without competition, pressure or prejudice and regardless of the idea of performance.

We see ourselves as anti-fascists and do not tolerate discriminatory and inhumane statements or actions. Racism, sexism, homophobia and other reactionary attitudes will be sanctioned and may lead to expulsion from the association. This also applies to events that we organise.

We are committed

The IFC Rostock is politically, culturally and socially active. We see ourselves as a civil society player in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern that is interested in other aspects of social life in addition to sport. This includes integrative programmes for young people from socially disadvantaged backgrounds, as well as publications and events that take a critical/humorous/satirical look at current developments.

Members can play sport at the IFC without being interested in the above-mentioned principles - but not against them. The founding focus was on football, but we are now a multi-sports club.
